Warren Buffett

Warren Buffett is the source
for the famous quote
“I buy expensive suits.
They just look cheap on me.”

LOL
Unfortunately, he is correct.

“You are not touching my face.”

Anne heard the ruckus as soon as she entered Stanley’s apartment. Actually she could hear it out in the hallway through the paper thin walls.

“I am a professional. I’ve taken courses, Skinny Ginny.” There was a plea in Stanley’s voice. Anne knew Ginny’s face would be hard for him to resist.

“I saw what you did to Annie’s hair.”

“That was hair. This is make up. I can do make up, gorgeous. It is my element.”

“You can do make up. For someone else.” Ginny’s blue eyes lit up. “Here’s Annie. Practice on her.” She dragged her by the arm over to where Stanley had his brushes and vats of make up all set up.

“I…” Anne didn’t want her face done but Ginny’s face was like stone and Stanley’s bottom lip curled into a pout. All the signs of a bad start to the evening. “Oh, okay.” She sighed, settling into the chair. How could this end up any worse than the green hair?

“Oh, goodie.” Stanley clapped, the thundercloud replace by bright sun. “This is a real treat, Annie Bananie. You don’t let me touch your face very often.”

“You let HIM give you makeup tips and not me?” The drama wasn’t yet over.

Anne got up again. “Unless you’d rather?” She waved at the seat.

“No, no.” Ginny conceded. “You go right ahead.” She plunked down in a nearby chair. “Could I suggest moss green eye shadow to go with the hair?”

She was joking, right?

“Ohhh…” Stanley’s mouth rounded. “She could be a woodland fairy.”

Oh, lord, they weren’t.

In Defense Of The Green Haired Freak

Posted on June 11th, 2008 in Anne At College by kimber

Read about Nancy and Ted’s Romance Here.

“She called you a green haired freak?”

“Yes. Yes.” Anne waved. They had covered that already.

“To your face?” Ginny was indignant.

“Yes. Ginny, that’s not important.” Anne didn’t know why her little sister was dwelling on it. So Fawn called her a name. No big deal. She had been called worse.

A guy hovered near them, indecision on his face.

“I think it is important.” Ginny’s frown scared him away. “No one calls my sister a green haired freak and gets away with it.” She pounded the chair arm, careful not to mess up her perfect manicure. Ginny had been getting her nails done since she accumulated enough allowance money to do so. “Uh, uh. Not my sister.”

That sounded like an agreement. “Then you’ll help?”

“Do you have to ask?” Ginny looked hurt. “Of course, I’ll help. We’re sisters. That’s what sisters do. And this girl shouldn’t have called you that. It was not nice.”

“I do have green hair.” Anne, to be fair, had to point out.

“I don’t know why.” Blonde hair bounced. “So Stanley asked you, that doesn’t mean you have to say yes. For a smart girl, Annie, sometimes you do some dumb things. Like that shirt you’re wearing. Those colors. Not flattering.” Disgust. “You should let me dress you.”

This again. She wasn’t going to be Ginny’s Barbie doll. “These are the school colors, Ginny.”

“Why are all academics color blind?” Her sister muttered.
