Love In The Air (Part 3 Of 4)
“Don’t I?” Tora met his gaze squarely. Why did men always think they were so mysterious? They were quite simple creatures. “Let me guess… you’re building a business, right?”
He hesitated, those rich chocolate eyes flickering, before nodding. “Yes, I am.”
“Your own business.” No one worked that hard creating wealth for someone else.
“I am the principal partner, again correct.” His thumb rubbed over her wrist, spreading sensations all over her body.
“Your assistant quit.” The only other reason for him to travel alone was because he was too cheap to hire help. As both the suit on his massive frame and the John Lobb’s on his equally large feet were extremely expensive, she didn’t think that was the case.
He winced. “Her elderly mother is ill. She’s on leave.”
“And you haven’t had time to find a replacement.” That was always her father’s excuse. Her mom would beg Tora to step in. She would, interviewing candidate after candidate looking for exactly the right person to assist a workaholic entrepreneur.
“She’ll come back.”
“Not soon enough. You need to hire a temp.” He was working himself into the ground. He had no one.
No one.
Tora was on holiday. Yes, she was supposed to look in on the renovations at their new Barcelona hotel but that would take minutes out of the day. The rest of the time was hers to do with as she wished. She raised her chin. “I’ll do it.”
“Do what?” His distracting petting of her wrist stopped.
“Be your temp.” Tora smiled. It was the perfect solution.
