Colin Firth

A delicious photo of Mr. Darcy… I mean Colin Firth.
A tight jacket,
an open shirt
and…
What was I talking about again?

“And what do you know of men?”

She may be no bebe but she was so pure and innocent, it made Carlos’ teeth ache to look at her. And look he couldn’t help but do. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, more beautiful than any Hollywood actress.

“I know enough.” She flipped her dark hair over her right shoulder too. The curls bounced, black and silky and full of life.

She was everything Carlos had ever wanted and nothing he could possibly have. His big fists clenched, fists that had killed more than once. “You-”

The baby shrieked. The big man pivoted on his heel, dropping the baby gear in a pile by his feet, and rushed to the little woman’s side. The wife cooed.

This was a reminder of what happened when a man wanted something he didn’t deserve. The Boss had wanted the little woman too. But he was bad. The giant ugly man was good. Good always won out over bad. Always.

“The beauty at reception is a little spitfire, isn’t she?” Domi, the family’s permanent bodyguard, dropped his voice. “All that fire makes a man want to-”

“Touch her and you die.” Carlos put a hand on his gun. She was better than Domi. She was better than him. She was better than all of them.

“Hey, hey.” Domi stepped away, his hands raised. “Relax. I didn’t know she was yours.”

She was not his. Carlos looked over at the beauty. She would never be his. But, as she would never be Domi’s either, he stayed silent .

“Your rooms are ready.” She dangled the keys from her fingertips.

Carlos stepped forward to take them. Their skin touched, only for a moment but long enough to send a ripple of feeling up his arm. “Gracias.” The word was thick in his throat. He turned away, unable to think while looking at her. “I will do a sweep of the room,” he addressed Domi. “I will text you when it is clear.”

He fled the lobby, the woman’s floral scent teasing his nostrils.

Dormant (Part 1 Of 4)

“I’m not some damn pack mule,” Hagen Rayner groused at his petite wife.

Marie kept her smile as bland as possible. Si, the huge man was correct. He looked like a pack mule. He was weighed down with a car seat and a diaper bag and had two bottles in one big hand. He also brayed like one, continuously from the moment they entered the hotel lobby. The little woman, his green eyed wife, ignored him as he stomped around. The sweet little baby in her arms had her complete attention.

The men behind the couple had Marie’s. More specifically, one man. The big man with the gloriously thick eyebrows. She had never noticed eyebrows before but his had captivated her. That and the way his muscles rippled as he moved.

“Will you need rooms also?” she asked the men.

“Si. Uno.” The other man, some would say the more classically handsome of the two, held up a finger.

“Oh.” All happiness in Marie’s ample bosom was crushed out. One room. She looked between them, her cheeks heating. There was a couple in the village like that. “We only have double beds left.” The Rayners had reserved the last king sized bed.

Thick eyebrows slammed down. “I sleep at the compound.” His Spanish was flavored with a Belizean accent. He wasn’t from around here though. She would have noticed.

“And why aren’t we sleeping at the damn compound?” Mr. Rayner grumbled. “He is supposedly your damn friend.” His wife quietly murmured something, tilting her chin up defiantly.

The compound. It wasn’t much now, a collection of shacks erected in the jungle, but Marie had heard the owner, a Mr. Santos, planned to build a huge casa there. It would be a fortress. Because Mr. Santos had many, many enemies. “You are new.” She thought she knew all his employees.

“I am no one.”

His blunt reply communicated she was to mind her own business. Marie gave him most flirtatious smile. She did love a mystery. “I am no fool. I know you are someone.” She leaned forward, across the counter, toward him, well aware that her blouse pulled tight against her chest. It was her best asset, she had been told.

Dark eyes swept downwards and then snapped back up again. “You know nothing. You are like a bebe, playing with things you do not understand.”

A bebe? She straightened, flipping her long curls over her shoulder. “You are a man. What is there to understand?”

The Cover For Flawless!

Posted on January 5th, 2010 in Uncategorized by kimber

Flawless Kimber Chin

Here is the brand new cover for Flawless!
(Designed by Amanda Kelsey)

That is exactly how Grace looks!
(Or how I pictured her in my mind)
Well… not BLUE but…

The couple in the background is SO obviously Carlos and Marie.
Carlos is a big guy.
Some may call him a bit of a goon.
Many readers met Marie in Invisible.

Tavos is quite happy NOT to be on the cover
(as happy as Tavos can be).
He had no patience for Amanda,
threatening to do away with her more than once
if she even suggested he pose.

Ohhh… I am SO excited!
