Anne hung out in the lobby of the student center, waiting for Ginny. She didn’t want to meet at her residence in case Fawn was around. They had to talk about the game plan before Ginny met the room-mate.

Anne tapped the concrete floor with her runner. She almost chickened out this morning. What they were about to do was mean and Anne usually didn’t play the mean games. She found out long ago that mean left her feeling even more rotten than simply taking the crap in the first place.

But then Fawn had made a snide little remark about Nancy to Ted. Ted defended his girlfriend, of course, but Anne could see the damage being done. Fawn had seen it too, smiling that smug smile of hers, like hurting people gave her pleasure.

She wasn’t going to hurt Anne’s friend. No way. Not if Anne had anything to do with it.

The commotion at the door told Anne Ginny had arrived. She glided in, hips swinging, a snug fitting turtleneck accentuating her curves paired with the cutest little skirt in the latest color. Anne smiled fondly. Ginny had been born with style.

Her sister’s blue eyes widened when they rested on Anne. “Your hair!” she gasped.

“Don’t tell Mom.” Their Mom wouldn’t be happy with Stanley if she knew. “Did you make some new friends?” A gaggle of good looking men buzzed around Ginny. That was nothing new.

“I couldn’t quite remember where the center was, so Paul.” The lanky man wilted under the force of Ginny’s smile. “Kindly showed me where it was.”

“I could have showed you.” Another guy piped up. There was a chorus of agreement.

“Everyone is SO friendly here.” Everyone was always so friendly to Ginny. “I’m told that the…” She winced. “Caffeinator, is it?”

Another round of affirmatives.

“Is where everyone will be tonight, is that right?” Yeses all around. “Will we be going, Annie?”

Anne wasn’t planning on them going to the under ages student club but… “Sure.”

“So I’ll see you all there?” Cheers. “I have to talk to my big sis now.” They were being dismissed. “Girl talk.” That scattered them.
