Anne Gets A Room-Mate

Posted on May 7th, 2008 in Anne At College by kimber

Read about Nancy and Ted’s Romance Here.

Anne’s eyes flicked over her new room-mate. Pretty but not as pretty as Ginny or was that simply bias?

Anne darted a glance at Fawn again. Nope. There was something in the girl’s eyes that wasn’t in her sister’s. Meanness? No, that wasn’t it. Bitterness. Like despite being blessed with looks Anne could never hope to match, she wasn’t happy, would never be happy.

And now she’d be making Anne miserable too.

Blasted…

The only reason Anne agreed to this arrangement was because it had been Nancy asking. She didn’t care about a trouble making blonde getting burned out of her room, that was none of her business.  She didn’t even care about Ted possibly getting tempted.  If he did, he wasn’t right for her friend.

But that’s what Nancy was, a friend, and when friends asked for favors, Anne tried her best to accommodate them. So now she found herself in this situation.

“This is a small room.” Fawn sniffed, her nose wrinkled up.

“All the dorm rooms are roughly the same size.” Anne thought she detected desperation edging Nancy’s voice.

It was a small room. Who cares? Wasn’t this temporary? A few days, Nancy had said. She raised an eyebrow in question to her friend.

Nancy frowned and glanced away.

Uh, oh, that wasn’t good. How long was she going to be stuck with the beauty queen?

“It looks smaller because of the two beds,” Ted added. His arm was around Nancy’s waist. They looked good together, like a real couple now.

“A folding bed.” The blonde’s full mouth turned downwards in a pout. “I’m not sleeping on a folding bed.”

The folding bed had been begged off of the dorm mom. It was the best they could get. Ted knew his finicky so-called friend wouldn’t sleep on an air mattress.

“It has a real mattress on it.” The original mattress for the room. Anne didn’t want to think about how many bodies had slept on it.

Well manicured hands tested her own mattress. Anne’s eyes narrowed. What was Fawn doing?

“Then you have that one. I’m going to sleep on this bed.” And she plunked her butt down on it, bouncing a bit.

Anne caught Nancy’s eye. She was going to owe her big.

Simply Romance Reviews Guest Post

Posted on May 5th, 2008 in Breach Of Trust by kimber

I’m very, very excited to be guest posting over at Simply Romance Reviews today.  Why am I so excited?  Because this is my first guest post after my very first book launch.

Firsts are important, aren’t they?  First kiss, first job, first business.  We always remember them.  I hope that you’ll pop over and be part of this memory for me.

Oh, and talking about firsts.  I have the best big brother in the world.  My brother haunted the Champagne site so that he could be my very first sale.  He also read it immediately so he could be my first (non-industry - my editors read it first)  reader.  Wasn’t that sweet?  It meant a lot to me.

Jake Gyllenhaal
If I had to describe Philippe Lamont
(my hero in Breach Of Trust),
Jake Gyllenhaal would be his physical equivalent.
Notice how youthful and fresh his suit looks
