“What to do? What to do?” Anne lined up all the books on the desk perfectly straight as they thought. “Another guy?” Someone better looking than Ted? Dark, handsome, with dancing, laughing eyes?
“Tried that, Annie No Plannie.” Stanley rolled his eyes. “With Patrick, that beefy hunkasaurus. If I liked men…” A dramatic pause. “Oh, wait.” A squeal. “I do. Very much. Very, VERY much.” His smile was naughty.
Anne had to laugh, getting a hush from a librarian. Stanley added some color into her rather beige life. She didn’t know what she’d do without him.
“Plus Queen bee is used to the hive of admirers. Honey, she wouldn’t give one drone up, not if she could help it.” Stanley looked pleased with his analogy.
It was good. Fawn was like a Queen bee, expecting the world to drop at her feet. Likely why she didn’t want to meet or speak with the other girls. Competition. She wasn’t threatened by dear, loving Nancy, or, Anne picked a piece of disgusting lint off her sleeve, her green haired freak of a room-mate.
Not that she was any rival with her normal brown hair. Now if she had her sister Ginny’s blonde hair…
Her sister Ginny. Her always bugging her for a visit invite sister Ginny.
But the room was crowded as it was. “Stanley, you have that empty bed at your place?”
“For now, The Incredible Annie.” A big sigh. “Why?”
Anne smiled. “I have a plan.”
